Powerball Ticket Prices Double on Sunday

By: KARK 4 News
Updated: January 12, 2012
Powerball organizers are taking a gamble, betting players will pay twice as much for a shot at the jackpot.

The price of a Powerball ticket doubles on Sunday to two dollars.

Organizers believe the change will draw more people to the Powerball because the minimum jackpot will also double from $20 to $40 million.

The move is also meant to distinguish the Powerball from its partner multi-state lottery, "Mega Millions."
