Walmart Sales Reverse Two-Year Slide

By: Newsroom Solutions
Updated: November 17, 2011
It could be a sign of the American economy's slow climb out of the recession.

Walmart says U.S. sales are up for the first time in two years.

The company reports revenue in the third quarter of this year increased more than eight percent to about 110-billion dollars.

Sales at established U.S. stores rose one-point-three percent, beating expectations.

However, profits are down 100-million dollars in this year's third quarter compared to the same period last year.
