Updated: October 27, 2011
Another cannon once mounted on pirate Blackbeard's ship, the Queen Anne's Revenge, has been retrieved off the North Carolina coast.

The massive eight-foot long cannon has been at the bottom of Beaufort Inlet since the ship went down in 1718.

Researchers have been retrieving artifacts from the shipwreck for several weeks.

Several other cannon have already been recovered, some of them loaded and ready to be fired.

Retrieval of thousands of artifacts from the site is expected to continue all next year and into 2013.
