Winter Heating Bills Expected to Go up

By: Newsroom Solutions
Updated: October 18, 2011
A new poll shows four-out-of-five Americans are expecting a jump in their home heating bills this winter.

Chairwoman Sue Walker of the Vent-Free Gas Products Alliance says bills will likely be higher, since fuel costs are going up.

Walker says there are ways to save on heating expenses.

She points out there are rooms in homes that don't need to be heated 24-7 and there are plenty of safe, inexpensive products on the market that let people heat each room individually.

Walker adds that for every degree you turn down your thermostat, you can save up to three percent on your home heating bill.
