Since that falls on a weekend, you can pay without penalty up to midnight October 17 in most areas.
Check with your county treasurer's office to find out what the last day to pay will be, and to get other payment information. Many counties have last-minute payment options available including by phone and online.
Some are also offering extended office hours for walk-ins.
Commissioner of State Lands John Thurston reminds Arkansans to pay their property taxes by the deadline.
Property taxes help fund public schools, libraries and emergency services that are essential to your county.
Failure to pay your taxes on time will result in added costs.
"These taxes are vital to the counties across this state. Without your tax dollars our communities will suffer," says Commissioner Thurston.
Additionally, if taxes are not paid within the following year your real property taxes may be certified to the Commissioner of State Lands office for collection.
If your taxes are currently delinquent and have been certified to the Commissioner of State Lands office, the agency will accept payments through October 17th. Call them at (501) 683-3053 for additional information on delinquent real property taxes.
