New Airline Rules for Summer Flights

The Transportation Security Administration is putting new rules on flights this summer. Starting in August, some airlines will ask passengers for their full name and birthday. The program is called "Secure Flight". Right now, TSA cross checks every passengers name against a suspected terrorist watch list. If one of the passenger`s names is similar to one on the watch list, the person will be pulled aside for extra screening, and possibly not let on the plane. TSA officials say by asking for more information from passengers, there is less of a chance their name will "hit" on the watch list. TSA is working with two un-named airlines to get the program started in August. After that, they`ll bring on one airline at a time. Once the program is up and running, passengers will be asked for their full name and birthday, but they aren`t required to supply the information. TSA officials say if they refuse, their at a greater risk of getting stopped at a security check point.
