Arkansas, home of the "Best Restroom"

The finest restroom in America is at the airport in Fort Smith. That`s according to the Internet public who cast online ballots in the 4th annual "America`s Best Restroom" contest presented by Cincinnati-based Cintas Corporation, a provider of restroom cleaning products and services. The 2005 contest attracted nominations from businesses, theaters, and community colleges to hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, and airports. Ten finalists were selected based on exceptional hygiene, style and open access to the public. Thousands of voters logged on to participate. The top five finishers included: City Business 1. Fort Smith, Ark. Ft. Smith Regional Airport 2. Seattle, Wash. Columbia Tower Club 3. Shipshewana, Ind. Blue Gate Restaurant 4. Lafayette, La. Associated Travel Group 5. San Luis Obispo, Ca. The Madonna Inn "Fort Smith is thrilled to be recognized by the Cintas America`s Best Restroom Contest," says Kent Penney, Fort Smith Regional Airport Director. "Our maintenance staff does an excellent job making sure that every part of our Airport is user-friendly -- including the restrooms. On average, Fort Smith`s Regional Airport`s restrooms are straightened-up every thirty minutes for our guests." Fort Smith Regional Airport`s restrooms make functionality a priority, as they easily handle the 500,000 customers that pass through the Airport annually. This year`s winning restroom features touchless, hygienic fixtures and recess ed lighting provides a touch of elegance to the floral arrangements that line the countertops.
