At many Wednesday night Catholic Mass services, Arkansans are taking time to pray for the soul of Pope John Paul II. At the Cathedral of St. Andrew in Little Rock, hundreds gathered to pay their respects to their religious father through music. Through song and prayer, the worshipers remembered the man who lead their religion for almost 30 years. The choir sang hymns of remembrance as they were accompanied by the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. Congregation members prayed for the Lord to lead the Cardinals in selecting another Pope to serve the church as well as John Paul II. At Our Lady of Holy Souls, Father Elser lead the congregation in prayer. He reminded the members that while they mourn the loss of the Pope on Earth, they should be thankful he is now with the Lord. The funeral for Pope John Paul II is set for Friday morning at 3:00 a.m. central time. Nine days after the funeral, the Cardinals will meet to decide who will become the next Pope.
