Congressman Ross Says New Budget Is "Irresponsible"

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Congressman Mike Ross, a Democrat, calls the Republican budget approved in the US House "fiscally irresponsible" and "morally incomprehensible". He says it adds "trillions of dollars to our national debt", does not take in to account the continuing costs of our involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan, and makes "drastic cuts" to programs that families and farm families depend upon, such as Medicaid and payments to crop and dairy producers. Arkansas` other Democratic congressmen voted against the House budget for 2006, which passed narrowly on a vote of 218 to 214. GOP Congressman John Boozman voted with his Republican colleagues in approving the $2.57 Trillion spending plan.
