Steroid testing nothing new for Arkansas Travelers

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
With major league players testifying before a congressional committee about steroid use, KARK wanted to find out what kind of testing is in place for the Little Rock AA team the Arkansas Travelers. According to the assistant general manager for the team, players are tested randomly twice a season. There has never been a player with the Travelers who has tested positive. If a minor league player does test positive, he is suspended for 15 games. However, at any given time there may be a few players on the team who are under a major league contract. Those players are exempt from testing because they are part of the Major League ball players union.
