Animals at LR Zoo Deal With Weather, Too

Groundhogs aren`t the only animals who feel the winter weather.
At the Little Rock Zoo, a 13 year-old grizzly named Nona is having a tough time staying asleep.
Meantime, a Malayan sun bear named Casey is dealing with his first real winter weather. "He was born at the Miami Zoo," says carnivore curator Debbie Thompson. "We actually saw him shiver when we put him on exhibit, and I`ve never seen any bear do that before."
Most of the animals have the option to head inside to warm up, but some-- like the otters-- could care less. "Cold weather doesn`t bother them at all. In fact, they love the snow. They`ll slide on their belly and get ice forming on their whiskers," says Thompson.
