A former White County judge candidate and Bald Knob Justice of the Peace faced a judge today on charges that he lied on paperwork he filed to run for office. When David Freppon decided to run for judge, he signed a pledge saying he was never convicted of a felony. Prosecutors found out Freppon pleaded guilty to felony arson in 1969 and got a suspended sentence. Freppon said he thought it was a misdemeanor conviction. A judge today found him guilty of false swearing and ordered Freppon to pay a $500 fine.
