The Dallas policeman who arrested Lee Harvey Oswald after the November 22nd, 1963, assassination of President John F. Kennedy has died. Maurice McDonald died Thursday in Hot Springs, Arkansas, at age 76. His widow, Rose McDonald, says he died of complications from diabetes. McDonald arrived at Dealey Plaza minutes after Kennedy was shot while passing through in his motorcade. He later confronted Oswald at a movie theater. Oswald pushed a pistol into his abdomen, but McDonald later recounted the hammer of the weapon was blocked by his palm. McDonald retired from the Dallas police department in 1980.
