Funding Coming For Elderly And Persons With Disabilities

Senators Mark Pryor and Blanche Lincoln and Congressmen Marion Berry, Vic Snyder, John Boozman, and Mike Ross today announced $556,560 in federal funding to supplement the elderly and persons with disabilities statewide buses and vans program. Members of the Arkansas Congressional delegation said the funding, part of a $10 million earmark the delegation secured in the Fiscal Year 2004 Omnibus Appropriations Act, will supplement the procurement of vans and small buses for Arkansas` community service organizations serving the elderly and persons with disabilities. The following non-profit agencies are recipients: 1st District Abilities Unlimited of Jonesboro, Inc. $25,200 Northeast Arkansas Community Mental Health Center, Inc., Jonesboro, $30,400 Arkansas Sheriffsb Youth Ranches, Inc., Batesville $16,480 Woodruff County Nursing Home, McCrory $13,600 2nd District Community Living, Inc., North Little Rock $33,600 Housing Authority of the City of Conway $33,600 North Hills Services, Inc., Sherwood $25,200 The Centers for Youth and Families, Little Rock $16,480 Baptist Health Foundation, Little Rock $25,600 Independent Living Services, Greenbrier $14,240 3rd District Area Agency on Agining of Western Arkansas, Fort Smith $25,200 The Office of Human Concern, Inc., Rogers $20,480 Archway, Inc., Russellville $20,480 Franklin County Learning Center, Ozark $33,600 Boone County Independent Living, Inc., Harrison $27,360 Harbor House, Fort Smith $14,240 4th District Rainbow of Challenges, Inc. b School of Hope, Hope $38,000 C.B.
