Wal-Mart Sales Up

Wal-Mart Stores estimates its US sales were up between 1 and 3 percent for the week ending yesterday. The world`s largest retailer said its food and general merchandise sales were strongest, gift-card sales were significantly higher than Christmas week last year and sales were over the company`s plan for the Sunday after the holiday.
