Little Rock Electrical Company Will Pay Back Wages To Workers

Updated: January 7, 2009
The US Labor Department says a Little Rock electrical company has agreed to pay back wages to a dozen workers who claimed they were underpaid. Snell-Northcutt will pay $29,000 to the workers. The Labor Department said today that between June 2003 and May 2004, the company didn`t provide the required prevailing wages and fringe benefits on a federally backed job. The payments involved work that Snell-Northcutt did at the Capitol Hill Apartments, which is a project aided by federal loan guarantees. Federal law requires that prevailing wages be paid on most federally funded work contracts. The Labor Department said the electrical company volunteered to pay the back wages and consented to debarment on federal construction contracts for three years.
