The city of Jonesboro is reminding
hunters that it is illegal to discharge a firearm within the city
limits.
Craighead County Sheriff Jack McCann says a number of complaints
have been filed over shots fired a deer within the fringes of the
city.
Bow hunting is also illegal in the city. The sheriff says one
hunter told him that he`d been hunting deer for years inside the
Jonesboro limits but didn`t know there was a rule prohibiting it.
McCann says the city does not have and anti-hunting ordinance --
it just has a law against discharging weapons.
