Election results now official

Election results are finally official in Pulaski County now that the county election commission has been allowed to bypass the county clerk. Secretary of State Charlie Daniels certified results Friday from 22 counties that needed to amend their numbers. Among those was Pulaski County, the state`s most populous county and one where the county clerk has been cited for gross inaccuracies. County Clerk Carolyn Staley is out at the end of the month, but she continued to add to her saga after the November Second election. Her staff made data-entry errors when they received election results from the county election commission and reported different totals to the state. Commission director Susan Inman said Friday that Daniels` office gave her permission to send the commission`s file directly to the state database, bypassing the clerk`s office.
