Circuit Clerk Staley Asked to Resign

Pulaski County Circuit Clerk Carolyn Staley is expected to step down at the end of the year, but it is not soon enough for Prosecuting Attorney Larry Jegley. Wednesday afternoon, Jegley delivered a letter to Staley, raising concerns about how she`s working with the incoming clerk (Pat O`Brien) and demanding her resignation immediately. Staley fired back with her own letter, refusing to quit and telling Jegley that he`ll have to find someone else to bully. Jegley says any hopes for a smooth transition were dashed Tuesday night when Staley asked the Quorum Court to slash the Circuit Clerk`s budget by $285,000.
