Pope County Budget Falls Short

Pope County officials are projecting a significant shortfall in spendable revenue for 2005. The Pope County Quorum Court now must figure out how to cut more than One million dollars off a proposed 8.4 million dollar general fund budget. Estimates show the county will only be able to collect Seven-point-three million in revenues. Employees have already been told they won`t see any raises or departmental increases.
