Tumey Concedes Race To Hutchinson

Democrat Robbyn Tumey has conceded defeat in her state legislative race against Republican Timothy Hutchinson. Tumey had held out hope that she could use a legal challenge to win the seat, even though she was trounced in balloting. With complete but unofficial results in the District 95 contest, Hutchinson had 63 percent of the vote, to Tumey`s 37 percent. Circuit Judge Timothy Fox on Tuesday night rejected a complaint from Tumey, that Hutchinson had not lived in the district for at least a year. Tumey`s campaign manager had said the candidate was considering an appeal. But in a news conference this morning, Tumey said she was dropping the effort.
