Campaigns Adapt To The Weather A Day Before Vote

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
The Arkansas campaigns for President Bush and Democrat John Kerry adapted their strategies today because of the rainy weather. Instead of a 12-city helicopter tour to tout Bush`s campaign, Governor Huckabee worked the phones, encouraging local activists to help get out the vote. A day after the Kerry campaign enjoyed a visit from former President Bill Clinton, organizers used the phones instead of a door to door campaign today to urge people to vote. Kerry Arkansas coordinator Rodney Shelton says the campaign is focusing on new voters and undecided voters. Rain is forecast for tomorrow, too. Both sides say they hope for a strong turnout in spite of the weather.
