Incumbent Democrat Blanche Lincoln holds a solid lead over little known Republican opponent Jim Holt in her race for re-election, a poll released Monday shows. The poll, conducted by Opinion Research Associates for the Arkansas News Bureau and Stephens Media Group, showed Lincoln with twice the support (66 percent) of Holt (33) percent among those surveyed. Opinion Research randomly telephoneed 500 likely voters October 18-21, and the poll had a margin of error of plus or minus 4.5 percent. 90 percent of those surveyed recognized Lincoln by name. Less than have did not recognize Holt by name.
