Pine Bluff Police are looking for a man accused of beating his family members during a domestic dispute Tuesday. Melvin Jefferson, 40, beat his wife and son with a car jack and then beat his stepdaughter with a lamp before fleeing his home on Burnett, police say. "We feel that he may have gone to Little Rock and we`re asking for assistance from anyone who can help us locate him," said Sergeant Robert Rawlinson of the Pine Bluff Police Department. Jefferson was released on parole in June after serving 16 years on a murder conviction. He is currently wanted on 1st-degree battery charges and is considered armed and dangerous.
