The family of a nine-year-old boy killed after he exited a school bus has filed a civil lawsuit against the woman police say was driving the vehicle that struck him. Prosecutors have charged 24-year-old Tiffany Nix of Benton with manslaughter in the September 28th accident. The charge was upgraded from negligent homicide after blood tests allegedly showed Nix had opiates and amphetamines in her system at the time of the crash. William Kelly Brian, the father of the young victim, William "Isaac" Brian, filed a lawsuit against Nix that seeks monetary damages. The suit seeks both compensatory and punitive damages but does not name a dollar amount.
