Between 250 and 300 members of the Arkansas Air National Guard`s 188th Fighter Wing are to be deployed to the Persian Gulf nation of Qatar in July. The deployments are to last 90 to 120 days and will include pilots and support personnel. Arkansas National Guard spokeswoman Captain Kristine Munn said she didn`t know what the airmen`s mission in the Middle East would be. They will serve under the 379th Expeditionary Wing at Al Udeid Air Base. That`s 20 miles south of Qatar`s capital of Doha. Qatar was home to the Central Allied Command during the Iraq War.
