Updated: January 7, 2009
A Benton family is mourning the loss of their son and calling for tougher laws against drivers who bypass school buses. William Brian, speaking to the media for the first time since the deadly accident, said the woman who ran down his son should face tougher penalties. "If a vehicle is involved and a school bus is involved and a death is involved, that should be a felony," said Brian. Isaac Brian, 9, was struck and killed Tuesday after he came off a school bus. 24-year old Tiffany Nix of Benton was charged with two misdemeanors in connection with Isaac`s death. Her arraignment date is set for October 11th. Isaac`s funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m on Monday at the Ashbury Funeral Home in Benton.
