Arkansas Soldier Was Home For Birth Of His Son

Army specialist John Carney made it home to Rogers from fighting in Iraq in time to be with his wife when she gave birth to their son. He returns to Iraq on Thursday. The 23-year-old Carney is a heavy equipment operator with the 239th Engineer Company of the 39th Infantry Brigade. He met his wife, Rebecca Norton, at church and they were married in 2003. The soldier said he spent his two-week break changing diapers and bragging about his new son, John Andrew.
