School Transfer Deadline

Little Rock parents have until Friday October 1, 2004 to apply to transfer their children from low-achieving elementary schools to schools that have had more success on the arkansas benchmark exams. In Little Rock, there are 16 elementary schools that have been considered "low-acheiving" due to current or past test scores. Students at these schools can apply for 368 vacancies at 14 higher-acheiving schools. The transfer option is a provision of the federal no child left behind act of 2001. The transfers will go into effect October 25th. For more information on test scores throught the district you can visit the Little Rock School District`s website. www.lrsd.org
