Angry legislators are accusing the state Supreme Court of jeopardizing the rights of Arkansas troops stationed
overseas to vote in the November general election. The high court has ordered a halt to the printing of ballots in the state until it decides whether independent presidential
candidate Ralph Nader`s name will appear on the ballot. The Defense
Department had requested that ballots be printed for shipping to troops outside the country Tuesday. Wednesday morning, members of the House and Senate State Agencies Committees accused the Supreme Court foot-dragging that could keep troops fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan for other people`s right to vote from casting votes in
their own country. The court is scheduled to hear oral arguments tomorrow in the state Democratic Party`s legal fight to keep Nader off the ballot in Arkansas.
