Woman dies after being hit by NLRPD patrol car

North Little Rock police are investigating the death of a pedestrian who died of complications from injuries she sustained when hit by a patrol car. Carolyn Crews of North Little Rock, died Wednesday at a hospital. She was struck by a patrol car driven by Officer Brian Mitchell. North Little Rock police said Crews was struck at about 10:30 pm near the intersection of McCain Boulevard and North Hills Boulevard. Police said Crews stepped into the path of the car when Mitchell entered a southbound turn lane on McCain. Crews was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that police said were initially reported as non-life threatening. The department said its detective division is investigating the death.
