Miss Arkansas Places Fourth

Miss Arkansas Lacy Fleming was in the top five of the Miss American pageant at Atlantic City. Miss Alabama Deidre Downs, an aspiring doctor who put off medical school to compete for the crown, was named the winner. Fleming is from Hampton, Arkansas, and studied at Ouachita Baptist in Arkadelphia. She came in fourth place.
