A Greenbrier farmer who pleaded not guilty after admitting that he dumped three tons of manure on the route of
a gay rights parade to protest the event was found guilty of misdemeanor harassment in court. 35 year old Wesley Bono was ordered to pay $369.89 in restitution and $500.00 in court costs.
He also was sentenced to 30 days in jail, but the judge suspended that as long as Bono makes his payments on time. Bono spread the manure in front of a gay couple`s home June 27th and along two city streets, part of the gay rights parade route. Bono said he was exercising his right of free speech.
Bono said after previously pleading innocent (quote) "I live on a farm. Everything I do has to do with production.. male and female. By all the laws of nature, is it right? The animals don`t make these mistakes."
