State Supreme Court reviews marriage amendment

The Arkansas State Supreme Court is now reviewing two written arguments concerning Amendment 3. "An amendment concerning marriage" would ban same sex marriages in Arkansas, but the ACLU says the popular name and the ballot title are misleading. The ACLU suggest the amendment could affect civil unions and benefits already given to same sex couples. The group is seeking to have the amendment scratched from the November ballot. The Arkansas marriage committee says they expected the measure to be contested in court.
