Hurricanes affecting Wal-Mart sales

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Wal-Mart Stores says Hurricane Frances hurt sales at more than 150 stores last week, but hurricanes tend to just delay business and not affect the bottom line. With that in mind, the world`s largest retailer decided to stick with its expectations of two to four percent sales growth in the month of September. Wal-Mart is based in Bentonville. The company said in a weekly sales update that it expects only the timing of sales in Florida to have been changed by the hurricane.
