breaking news
The widow of the pilot of American Airlines flight 14-20 asked a federal judge today to continue her suit
against the airline from January until May.
Susan Buschmann of Naperville, Illinois, is the widow of Captain
Richard Buschmann. Her case is combined with flight attendants
Jennifer Chapman Buck and Laurie Nelson. The three asked for the
continuance. They said they need the extra three months so that their lead attorney, Arthur Alan Wolk, can teach an aviation class at Temple University`s law school in Philadelphia this fall semester.
The filing stated that Wolk would have to forego teaching the class in favor of taking on the trial. The trial is scheduled to begin January 24th. The filing asks that it be delayed until May 16th and states that the defense has no objection to the delay.
If the delay is granted, Buck and Nelson will attempt to reach a
settlement with the city and airport with mediation.
