Pine Bluff Arsenal officials say part of a bomb will be detonated Wednesday morning. They want local residents to know what`s about to happen so they
won`t panic when the nose section of an incendiary bomb is blown up by a bomb squad. Arsenal officials said the incendiary bomb was discovered during
unpacking and analyzing recovered munitions at the Pine Bluff Munitions Assessment System. The assessment team uses non-intrusive technologies to identify recovered chemical warfare material without opening them, protecting the worker and the environment. The bomb will be blown up at a secured location. This type of incendiary bombs were manufactured at the arsenal during World War Two and were designed to cause fires after being dropped from an aircraft.
