Look For The White Line When Parking Near River Rail Route In Little Rock

Street crews are planning to lay down white
lines on streets where the new River Rail will pass to try to
prevent accidents with parked cars.
The Eight foot Eight inch wide yellow street cars are to begin
passenger service November First, and a test run last week
determined that motorists tend to park their cars too far out from
the curb and risk having side mirrors and other parts of their
vehicles damaged.
The 48,000 pound street cars will follow a two and a half
mile route through some narrow downtown streets in Little Rock and
North Little Rock. Contractors expect to begin painting solid white
lines this week along the narrow spots, on Main Street north of
Broadway in North Little Rock and on President Clinton Avenue in
the River Market District.
Vehicles parked across the white lines could be towed or
ticketed.
