The wife of Democratic vice presidential hopeful John Edwards said America`s military healthcare system is not geared up to handle the fallout from war. Elizabeth Edwards was in North Little Rock today to discuss the issue with a group of veterans and military dependents. Mrs. Edwards criticized the Bush administration for closing some veterans hospitals, downsizing services at others and raising the costs of services for military personnel, veterans and their families. She said Democrat John Kerry would work toward universal coverage for military families as president. Mrs. Edwards also says a Kerry administration would work more closely with US allies to restore security and economic control of Iraq to Iraqis.
