Electric Cooperative Worker Dies From Injuries

One of the four electrical workers injured in a transformer explosion at Mountain Home has died of his injuries. North Arkansas Electric Cooperatives says 41-year-old Desi Jones of Mountain Home died Tuesday night at a Springfield, Missouri. The three other injured workers remain hospitalized. The utility`s chief executive officer says an investigation of the explosion will be conducted. Mel Coleman says the company knows what happened but not why it happened. The crew was preparing to move the transformer when it exploded. The resulting fire was so intense it damaged the steel structure at the station.
