No Parole for Denver Witham

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
In a rare move, the post prison transfer board has gone against a governor`s recommendation that an inmate be released. Today board members announced they wanted Denver Witham to stay behind bars. Witham is a 2-time killer. The family of his last victim, Stanley Wells, has loudly fought Witham`s release. They were highly insulted by the lies Witham told on his original application for clemency - one, that he did not use a weapon while killing Wells. In fact, Wells died after being beaten unrecognizable with a metal pipe. The victim`s brother, Jerry Wells, wants this small victory to give other families hope. He says with persistance, a family can be heard. He also hopes the governor hears the message the post prison transfer board is sending and rescinds Witham`s clemency.
