Springdale will host a national rally expected to draw thousands who support an amendment to the US Constitution that would define marriage as only a union between a man and a woman. The rally will be September 19th at the First Baptist Church of Springdale and will be simulcasted to other rallies in San Diego and Washington D-C. The featured speaker will be James Dobson, foundier of the Colorado Springs, Colorado-based Focus on the Family. The Springdale church`s pastor -- the Reverend Ronnie Floyd will speak as well. The rally comes as the U-S House is preparing to debate the Marriage Protection Amendment. The amendment earlier stalled in the Senate. Floyd said it is necessary because same-sex marriages were recently legalized in the state of Massachusetts.
