Arkansas Catfish In Wal-Mart Freezers

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
U-S Representative Mike Ross was at a Pine Bluff Wal-Mart Supercenter praising the company for selling catfish with labels saying it`s from Arkansas. The labeling project begins today at Arkansas Wal-Mart Supercenters. Arkansas the second-highest producer in the country. Ross said it finally gives Arkansas catfish farmers credit for the fish they produce. Catfish farmers in the state have experience poor sales in the past few years. Farmers blame imported fish that they say isn`t a quality product. Catfish farmer Roy Grizzell of Monticello says any way to promote catfish will help the industry. The products being labeled are sold by America`s Catch Incorporated which gets about half its products from Arkansas farmers.
