White County Sheriff`s Department Looking For Arsonist

Updated: January 7, 2009
An arsonist has burned another wooden bridge in White County -- the seventh in six years. A $5,000 reward has been posted for information leading to the culprit`s arrest. White County has about 130 wooden bridges and authorities say it is impossible to keep constant watch over all of them. The fire Saturday left an eight foot-by-ten foot hole. The bridge across Mingo Creek will take several weeks to fix. Officials say all of the bridges that burned have weight limits, and some have been burned more than once. White County sheriff`s Sergeant Preston Clark says investigators have no solid suspects.
