Legislative Panel Approves Study To Overhaul Government

A legislative panel has approved a study that outlines ways to overhaul state government. The study says the best way to reorganize state government would be decided by legislators, with help from state agencies and possibly a consultant. Governor Huckabee tried in 2003 to overhaul the way state government is organized but could not get the plan through the House. Huckabee wanted to reorganize 53 state agencies into ten major departments.
