Heifer Begins Construction On World Headquarters

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
The Heifer Project`s new world headquarters is on its way skyward. Construction has started on the international charity`s new offices in downtown Little Rock. The site is near the Clinton Presidential Library, which is to open in November. Heifer officials say the first pieces of the building started going up Friday and today stretch 60 feet into the air. The building is to have an environmentally friendly design, with solar panels and under-floor heating and cooling systems. Former President Clinton appeared at the project`s groundbreaking ceremony a few months ago. The Clinton Foundation, Heifer and another anti-hunger organization, WinRock International, are building headquarters in Little Rock and envision starting a profitable nonprofit corridor in the city.
