A group of women gathered at the Capitol Hotel with hopes of sending a new president to the nation`s capital. About 75 women with ties to the Democratic party met to discuss ways of getting the Kerry/Edwards message out to the female voting masses. "I`m down here working with women in Arkansas," said Ann Lewis of the Democratic National Committee. "Women can be great messengers for the Kerry/Edwards team." Lewis says this election year is crucial, because there are several battleground states up for grabs. Arkansas, which has six electoral votes, is one of them. Health care, the economy and the war in Iraq were some of the issues Lewis said "was of the utmost concern."
