Nader Will Be On The Ballot In Arkansas

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader has gathered enough certified signatures to earn a spot on the November ballot in Arkansas. In Arkansas third-party presidential candidates need one thousand signatures of registered Arkansas voters to be on the general election ballot. Nader supporters turned in one thousand, 234 signatures. Arkansas requires presidential candidates to have a party affiliation, so Nader`s supporters in the state called their party "The Better Life." Nader earned one percent of the Arkansas vote in 2000. That year 51 percent went to Bush, 46 percent to Al Gore and 1 percent to Pat Buchanan. The Arkansas secretary of state`s office also certified ballot slots for the Green Party and Constitutional Party on Thursday.
