Updated: January 7, 2009
The Clinton Presidential Library is sending out 120 to 130 thousand invitations for its November 18th grand opening. Invitations to foreign dignitaries and former presidents and first ladies began going out this week. More will continue to go out over the weekend. One hundred and five to 110-thousand of the invitations are sent to direct mail donors who have given money to Clinton`s nonprofit foundation over the last several years. Foundation president Skip Rutherford said that fundraising is in "good shape and if other fundraising efforts come to fruition in the next two to three weeks we`ll be in great shape." A fancier invitation with a new Clinton Presidential Library seal will go to 15 to 20-thousand dignitaries, former Clinton White House staff, people who worked on the 165 million dollar construction project and representatives of other presidential libraries and foundations.
