An inmate working with a crew on the Arkansas State University campus escaped today in a pick up truck. Prison officials say James T. Hall managed to slip away in a black pick up truck while the rest of the crew was cleaning a ditch. He was serving two and a half years for second degree battery and theft of property charges out of Poinsett and Craighead counties. He would have been eligible for parole December Seventh. He was wearing his white prison uniform at the time of the escape.
